Denny Lodge is a sparsely populated, largely rural area set within the New Forest in Hampshire, England. Much of the parish is open heath, bog and ancient woodland typical of the New Forest National Park, crossed by sandy tracks and bridleways rather than busy roads, so it feels remote and wild even close to the south coast.
Its character is shaped by traditional commoning and forestry: free‑roaming ponies, cattle and deer are a familiar sight, and land management for timber, grazing and conservation is important alongside quiet tourism and walking. Historic and archaeological traces such as scattered earthworks sit alongside more recent forestry works, giving the area a layered rural history and a small, community‑focused social life rather than any urban centre.
