East Boldre is a small village on the eastern edge of the New Forest in Hampshire, England. Set among heathland and ancient woodland, it retains a rural character of scattered cottages, a village hall and a pub, and sits within easy reach of the Solent towns such as Lymington and the maritime estate at Beaulieu.
Locally there’s a strong sense of community and links to traditional New Forest activities such as commoning and seasonal grazing, while tourism and holiday lets contribute to the economy. The village grew through the 19th and early 20th centuries and was associated with early aviation in the area, but its main appeal is the tranquillity of the forest, easy access to walks and wildlife, and proximity to coastal attractions.
