Gurnard

Gurnard is a small coastal village and civil parish on the north‑west coast of the Isle of Wight, immediately west of Cowes and looking out across the Solent. It sits around a shingle beach and low marshland, with a tidy seafront and good views to the mainland; the proximity to ferry links and the busy yachting waters gives it a distinctly nautical feel.

Originally a modest fishing hamlet, the parish developed through the Victorian and Edwardian periods and today mixes year‑round residents with holiday homes and visitors drawn by sailing and the coastal setting.
