Southfleet is a small village and civil parish in the borough of Dartford, in the county of Kent in south‑east England. It sits in gently undulating North Kent countryside, its name reflecting the little stream (the Fleet) that runs nearby, and lies a few miles inland from the Thames-side towns such as Northfleet and Gravesend.
With medieval roots the village retains a compact core of historic buildings and a parish church and has a traditionally agricultural character; today many residents form part of the London commuter belt while local life still revolves around parish activities and a handful of village amenities. Good road and rail connections nearby, including the M25 and Ebbsfleet International, make it convenient for commuters without erasing its quiet, rural feel.
