Great Mongeham is a small village and civil parish in the district of Dover, in Kent, England. It sits on the rolling chalk and farmland of east Kent, a few miles inland from the coast between Sandwich and Deal, and enjoys the quiet lanes, hedgerows and downland that attract walkers and birdwatchers in the area.
The village has a clearly historic feel, with an old parish core and traditional farmhouses reflecting a long agricultural past, while today many residents commute to nearby towns or work in local services. Like much of the east Kent coast and hinterland it has layers of history and archaeology, a small tight-knit community and the mixed cultural character of a place shaped by farming, maritime links and proximity to the busy ports of the region.
