Sholden is a small village and civil parish in the district of Dover, Kent, in England, lying a short distance inland from the east Kent coast and the resort of Deal. The countryside around it is typical of the area, with agricultural fields and remnants of chalk downland, and it sits within easy reach of coastal attractions such as the White Cliffs and the historic port towns of Sandwich and Dover.
Historically the community grew from farming roots and has long links with the maritime economy of the nearby Cinque Ports, while today it largely retains a village feel with a church, local amenities and community groups. Many residents commute to nearby towns like Canterbury or to jobs on the coast, so Sholden combines a quiet rural character with convenient access to larger centres and coastal tourism.
