Stourmouth is a small, rural civil parish in the district of Dover in Kent, England, lying beside the tidal reaches of the River Stour and the low-lying marshes around Sandwich. It has the feel of scattered hamlets and farmsteads rather than a single urban centre, with a landscape of arable fields, hedgerows and river meadows that reflect its long agricultural history.
Historically rooted in medieval parish structures, the area contains traditional flint cottages and a parish church at its heart; its floodplain and estuarine habitats also make it of interest to birdwatchers and wildlife conservationists. Today the community remains quiet and largely residential and farming-oriented, with many residents working in nearby towns such as Canterbury or Dover, while local conservation efforts help preserve hedgerows, meadows and the character of the place.
