Thanet Villages is a largely rural ward in the district of Thanet, in Kent in south‑east England. It occupies the inland hinterland of the Isle of Thanet, sitting between the larger coastal towns of Ramsgate and Margate, and is made up of a scattering of small villages and hamlets rather than a single urban centre.
The area is characterised by mixed agriculture, hedged lanes, historic parish churches and traditional cottages; local life revolves around village halls, pubs and conservation groups that protect chalk downland and marshes. Economically it blends farming and small enterprises with many residents commuting to nearby urban centres - there are good road and rail links towards Canterbury and London - while proximity to the coast means tourism and heritage draw occasional visitors without overwhelming the quiet rural character.
