Postling is a small rural parish in the district of Folkestone and Hythe in Kent, set on the lower slopes of the North Downs a few miles inland from the Channel coast near Folkestone. The settlement is dispersed around lanes and farms and retains a quiet agricultural character, with chalk downland, ancient hedgerows and footpaths that attract local walkers.
Historically the area has medieval roots and a scattering of traditional parish buildings and manor houses, while today life mixes farming with a number of residents who commute to nearby towns. Local social life is modest and village-centred, but its easy reach of coastal towns and transport links to places like Ashford and Canterbury makes it a peaceful base for exploring south-east Kent.
