Penenden Heath is an electoral ward and neighbourhood in Maidstone, Kent, England, sitting just north of the town centre close to the River Medway. It mixes Victorian and post‑war housing with local shops, schools and community facilities, and retains a stretch of the original common - the heath - providing a useful green lung amid suburban streets.
The heath itself is historically notable as the site of an important 11th‑century trial over land and rights and has long been used for fairs, meetings and sport, which gives the ward a recognisable local identity. Today it is largely residential with a mixed population commuting into Maidstone, supported by active neighbourhood groups and periodic regeneration projects to improve housing and amenities.
