Otford is a picturesque village in the district of Sevenoaks, Kent, England, sitting in the Darent valley at the foot of the North Downs. The village is defined by its green and duck pond, a conservation area of historic cottages, and the River Darent which threads through a landscape popular with walkers following the Pilgrims' Way and the North Downs Way.
Otford has notable history, from the remains of a Tudor palace built for the Archbishop of Canterbury and later associated with Cardinal Wolsey, to the medieval church of St Bartholomew; these attract visitors alongside local pubs, independent shops and a strong community calendar of fairs and events. Today it functions largely as a commuter and local service centre with a station offering links into London, while still retaining a village character that draws walkers and history enthusiasts.
