Burham is a small village and civil parish in Tonbridge and Malling, in Kent, England, sitting on the eastern bank of the River Medway at the foot of the North Downs. Its setting combines low-lying riverside marsh and floodplain with chalk escarpment above, so it attracts walkers and birdwatchers and feels distinctly rooted in the Kentish landscape.
Historically the settlement has a farming pedigree and grew around chalk extraction and cement-making along the Medway, leaving industrial archaeology alongside a traditional village core and an older parish church. Today many residents commute to nearby centres such as Maidstone and Rochester, while the riverside and surrounding countryside remain important for wildlife, recreation and local identity.
