Map of the UK

Emley is a small village in the Kirklees borough of West Yorkshire, set on the rolling foothills of the Pennines a short drive from Huddersfield. It is best known for the striking Emley Moor transmitting station, the tallest freestanding structure in the UK, which dominates the skyline and can be seen for miles around.

Historically the village grew up around coal mining and the wider West Yorkshire textile economy, and today it combines traditional stone cottages and a parish church with an active community life - local pubs, sports clubs, a primary school and village events - while many residents commute to nearby towns and walkers enjoy the surrounding lanes and moorland.
