Morley is a town and civil parish in the City of Leeds metropolitan borough of West Yorkshire, sitting roughly five miles south‑west of Leeds city centre. It grew up as a market town and textile centre and expanded with coal and manufacturing in the 19th century, leaving a compact Victorian civic core with the town hall and streets of old shops.
Today Morley combines a local high street and market traditions with a largely suburban population - many residents commute into Leeds - and supports active community life, sports clubs and regular civic events. Conservation areas and local festivals help preserve its historic character while independent businesses and schools keep a strong sense of local identity.
