Billesdon is a compact village and civil parish in the Harborough district of Leicestershire, England, lying around eight miles east of Leicester. It sits amid gently rolling arable farmland typical of east Leicestershire and has roots stretching back many centuries; the village gave its name to the former Billesdon Rural District, which administered the surrounding parishes until the 1974 local government reorganisation.
Today Billesdon remains largely agricultural with a mix of working farms and residents who commute to nearby towns, supported by a village hall, primary school and local clubs and pubs. Community life is active for a settlement of its size, and a scattering of older cottages and farmhouses hints at its rural history while regular village events and societies reflect the social character of Leicestershire countryside communities.
