Groby is a large village and civil parish in the borough of Hinckley and Bosworth, Leicestershire, England, lying to the west of Leicester. It has an easy mix of historic and green features: the earthwork remains of the medieval motte-and-bailey known as Groby Castle and the site of the old manor sit alongside Groby Pool and surrounding woodlands, popular with walkers and local wildlife, and with strong historical links to the Grey family of nearby Bradgate Park.
Today Groby feels both suburban and villagey - a commuter catchment for Leicester with local shops, schools and sports clubs, while traces of its industrial past remain in former stone and quarrying works that helped shape the local landscape. Community events, active village organisations and easy access to green spaces give it a character that balances historic interest with everyday family life.
