Asfordby is a village and civil parish in the Borough of Melton, about three miles west of Melton Mowbray in rural Leicestershire, England. Set amid the rolling farmland typical of the East Midlands, it functions today partly as a local service centre and partly as a commuter settlement for nearby towns, with straightforward road links into Leicester and beyond.
Historically rooted in agriculture, the area around Asfordby also saw 19th and 20th-century quarrying and mining activity and later light industry on converted sites, which has left a mixed landscape of older villages, newer housing and small business parks. The village retains a strong community feel with local clubs, a village hall and pubs, and is often appreciated for its proximity to country walks and the wider food and market culture of Melton Mowbray.
