Newbold is a small village in the district of North West Leicestershire, in the county of Leicestershire, England. It lies a few miles from Ashby-de-la-Zouch and Coalville, on the edge of rolling farmland and within easy reach of the woodlands that fringe the Charnwood area, so it’s a handy base for country walks while still close to larger towns.
Historically the village was shaped by the Leicestershire coalfield, so you’ll see a mix of older cottages and more modern housing and a local character influenced by that industrial past. Nearby Coleorton and the historic Coleorton Hall add architectural interest, and today many residents commute to Coalville, Leicester or Derby, with village life focussed on the pub, village hall and local clubs that give it a quiet, community feel.
