The ward covers the neighbouring villages of Worthington and Breedon on the Hill on the northern edge of Leicestershire within the district of North West Leicestershire. Breedon’s distinctive limestone ridge and church atop the hill give sweeping views over the surrounding farmland and into the nearby National Forest, and the area is crossed by a network of footpaths popular with walkers.
Historically the hill at Breedon on the Hill holds an ancient monastic site and a church with notable Anglo‑Saxon stonework; economically the locality has long been shaped by limestone quarrying and related industry, with active quarries and a local cement and aggregates trade that contrast with the quieter agricultural and village life in Worthington. The communities are small and close‑knit, with village pubs, conservation areas and a strong sense of local heritage.
