Holbeach is a large fenland parish in South Holland, Lincolnshire, England, lying on low-lying reclaimed land a few miles from The Wash. The landscape is characteristically flat and open, with peat and silt soils serviced by a network of drains, dykes and pumping stations; much of the area, particularly Holbeach Marsh, is given over to intensive arable and horticultural farming, notably vegetables, potatoes and cereals.
The settlement grew around a market and parish church from medieval times and today mixes historic buildings with Victorian and more recent development. The local economy remains rooted in agriculture and food-related trades, while community life centres on village halls, clubs and annual agricultural events; many people also commute to nearby towns such as Spalding. The long history of drainage and land reclamation gives the place a strong local identity tied to the wider The Fens landscape.
