Figge's Marsh is a residential ward in the London Borough of Merton, south‑west London. It centres on the green open space that gives the area its name and the surrounding streets, with a mixture of Victorian and inter‑war terraces, pockets of council housing and small local shops and services. The park acts as a local hub for sport and informal community events, giving a suburban, family‑oriented feel despite relatively easy commutes into central London.
Historically the neighbourhood grew out of common land and later waves of suburban development, and today it has a diverse population and ongoing local regeneration efforts aiming to improve housing and high‑street facilities. Good bus and rail/tram connections make it commuter‑friendly, while community centres, independent traders and occasional markets contribute to a lively, multicultural neighbourhood character.
