Hunmanby is a village and civil parish in the Scarborough district of North Yorkshire, England, lying a few miles inland from the east coast close to the seaside towns of Filey and Bridlington. Its name reflects Norse origins and a long history dating back to the medieval period; the village retains a compact historic core of stone and brick buildings and is served by a local railway station with connections to Scarborough and Hull.
Traditionally an agricultural community, Hunmanby now combines farming with tourism, local services and commuters working in nearby towns, and benefits from easy access to coastal walks and countryside. Social life centres on a primary school, a couple of pubs and village amenities, with a strong local identity maintained through community events and volunteer groups.
