Prudhoe North is the northern ward of the small market town of Prudhoe in Northumberland, sitting on the south bank of the River Tyne in the Tyne Valley and within easy reach of Newcastle upon Tyne. The area is largely suburban with pockets of greenbelt and countryside close by, and benefits from nearby historic features such as Prudhoe Castle and the broader riverside landscape that gives the ward a semi-rural feel despite its proximity to the city.
Historically the town and surrounding wards were shaped by coal, quarrying and light industry, and today the neighbourhood combines commuter living with local retail, small industrial estates and an active community life - schools, sports clubs and volunteer groups are prominent. Good rail and road links into Newcastle make it popular with commuters, while local parks and community facilities keep it firmly residential and family-oriented.
