Upton is a small, rural village and civil parish in the district of Newark and Sherwood in Nottinghamshire, England. Set amid rolling farmland, it has the feel of a traditional East Midlands village with a compact historic core of stone and brick cottages and farm buildings that hint at medieval origins. The local economy is still largely agricultural, though many residents commute to nearby market towns such as Newark and Southwell for work and services.
Community life revolves around the parish church, village hall and occasional local events, giving the place a close-knit character. Its quiet lanes and accessible countryside make it popular with walkers and those seeking a rural lifestyle within easy reach of larger town amenities.
