Brightwell-cum-Sotwell is a charming village and civil parish set in the rolling farmland of South Oxfordshire in the county of Oxfordshire, England. It lies a couple of miles south‑east of Wallingford and within easy reach of Didcot, the River Thames and the escarpments of the Chilterns, giving the area a mix of attractive countryside and good transport links.
With medieval roots and a compact historic core, the village retains many listed buildings and a village‑community feel; it was historically part of Berkshire until boundary changes in the 1970s. Local life centres on community events, the parish church and village amenities, while many residents commute to nearby centres such as Oxford, Reading and London, making it both a rural and practically connected place to live.
