South Moreton is a small village and civil parish in South Oxfordshire, in the county of Oxfordshire in England, lying a couple of miles south‑east of Didcot. Set in gently rolling countryside, it has medieval origins and a compact village core with several old cottages and farm buildings that reflect its agricultural past; the surrounding landscape is typical of the Thames valley fringes and provides a fairly tranquil rural setting.
Today the village retains a strong community feel, with local social life often centred on the village hall and pub and a programme of village events and clubs. Economically it remains partly agricultural but many residents commute to nearby Didcot and beyond – Oxford, Reading or London by rail – so the village mixes traditional rural character with commuter links to larger employment centres.
