Broseley is a small hilltop town and electoral ward in Shropshire, perched above the steep valley of the River Severn and adjacent to the famous industrial landscape of the Ironbridge Gorge. Its position on clay-rich hills made it a centre for coal, iron and clay‑pipe manufacture in the 18th and 19th centuries, leaving plenty of industrial archaeology and a strong visual connection to the nearby World Heritage area.
Today Broseley combines that industrial heritage with a largely residential character and local independent shops, pubs and community groups; many residents commute to Telford and beyond. The town links easily with visitor attractions such as Ironbridge and Blists Hill, so tourism and heritage activity sit alongside light industry and a noticeable sense of local identity.
