Morda is a small village on the western edge of Shropshire in England, a couple of miles from the market town of Oswestry and very close to the border with Wales. It sits amid the rolling, pastoral landscape that characterises this part of the county, with easy access to lanes and footpaths leading towards the hills to the south and the more open countryside often associated with the Shropshire Hills.
Historically the area developed around small‑scale coal working and local quarrying, and that industrial past still leaves its mark in the layout and building styles of the village. Today Morda retains a strong sense of local community with village facilities and sports teams, and its position near a larger town means residents combine rural living with links to wider services and markets.
