Brymbo is a former industrial parish a few miles north‑west of Wrexham in north‑east Wales, set on the uplands overlooking the Dee Valley. Its identity was shaped by ironworking and a large steelworks established from the late 18th century, creating a strong working‑class community with a rich trade‑union and industrial heritage; the decline and closure of heavy industry in the late 20th century brought economic challenges but also a focus on heritage and regeneration.

Geographically the area combines former industrial sites, reclaimed woodlands and open hillland, with remnants of blast furnaces and engine houses visible amid walking routes. Socially and culturally Brymbo retains that industrial character in local clubs, community organisations and in efforts to conserve and interpret its past while looking to diversify the local economy and green spaces.
