East Brent sits at the southern foot of Brent Knoll, an isolated hill rising out of the Somerset Levels. The knoll, with Iron Age origins, is a local landmark and gives the village sweeping views across reclaimed marshland and rich wet pastures that attract a variety of birdlife.
The settlement retains a strong sense of history in its medieval parish church and traditional buildings, while its economy is still rooted in agriculture and small local enterprises; many residents commute to nearby centres such as Bridgwater and Burnham-on-Sea. A busy village hall, clubs and seasonal fetes help maintain an active community life alongside easy access to regional amenities.
