Holcombe is a small village and civil parish in Somerset, set among rolling farmland on the fringes of the Mendip Hills. The landscape still shows traces of the Somerset Coalfield with rows of former miners' cottages and reclaimed pit sites that give the village a quietly industrial past alongside its rural character.
Today the community combines farming with commuter life - many residents work in Bath or Bristol - and local life centres on a parish church, village hall and occasional fairs; quiet lanes and public footpaths make it popular with walkers keen to explore both countryside and the county's social history.
