Westfield

Westfield is a village and civil parish in Bath and North East Somerset, England, lying between Midsomer Norton and Radstock on the northern fringe of the Mendip Hills. Historically it grew as a coal‑mining community within the Somerset coalfield, and that industrial past still shapes the landscape and local architecture with rows of stone terraces and former pit sites.

Today Westfield is a small residential and local‑service centre with shops, a community centre, sports clubs and some light industrial and retail areas; many people commute to Bath or Bristol while a strong local identity is maintained through community events and clubs that acknowledge the parish’s mining heritage. The parish council and local groups play an active role in managing growth and preserving green spaces around the village.
