Queen Camel is a compact village and civil parish in South Somerset, in Somerset, England. It sits on the banks of the Cam Brook, between the market towns of Yeovil and Somerton, and is close to the low-lying Somerset Levels, giving it a pleasant mix of rolling countryside and accessible road links to the rest of the county.
The village shows a long history in its medieval parish church, old stone and thatched cottages and nearby ancient earthworks, and its curious name is often said to recall royal ownership in the Anglo‑Saxon period. Today Queen Camel remains rooted in agriculture while also being a popular rural community for commuters; it retains a lively village hall, local clubs and occasional fairs that keep a strong sense of local identity.
