Dodington is a civil parish in South Gloucestershire, just to the east of Bristol, lying between the market towns of Chipping Sodbury and Yate. The landscape is a mix of rolling farmland, pockets of estate parkland and areas of more recent housing on the commuter fringe, with easy road access to M4 and the wider Bristol travel-to-work area.
The parish is perhaps best known for the historic Dodington Park, a classical country house set in ornamental grounds that testifies to the area's estate history; around it are working farms, small businesses and residential communities. Social life blends traditional village activities and parish events with newer residents drawn by commuting opportunities, while local services and employment are often found in the nearby market towns and the expanding South Gloucestershire economy.
