Perton is a large village and civil parish in the district of South Staffordshire, in Staffordshire, England. It sits on the western fringe of the West Midlands urban area, a few miles from Wolverhampton, and was largely laid out from the 1970s on the site of a former Second World War airfield, RAF Perton, which contributes to its distinctive road layout and remaining open spaces.
Today Perton is mainly residential and commuter‑oriented, with local shops, schools, community facilities and several small lakes and woodlands that give it a semi‑rural feel. The parish supports an active community life through clubs, parish council activity and seasonal events, while many residents travel to nearby towns and cities for work, keeping the local economy centred on services and amenities for families.
