Wombourne is a large village and civil parish in the district of South Staffordshire, in Staffordshire, England, sitting on the rural fringe of the West Midlands about six miles south‑west of Wolverhampton and close to Dudley. Its name comes from the local stream, the Wom Brook, and the settlement has medieval roots with a parish church and a number of historic buildings that reflect an agricultural past and later links to the industries of the nearby Black Country.
Today Wombourne combines village character with a largely commuter economy: a compact high street of independent shops and cafés, active community groups and sports clubs, and plenty of green space and walking routes on the edge of the countryside, making it a popular spot for those wanting quieter living within easy reach of the city.
