Marpleridge is a small residential area on the edge of Marple within the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport in England. It sits up on the ridge above the valley of the River Goyt, with easy access to the fringe countryside of the Peak District and waterways such as the Peak Forest Canal and the well‑known Marple Locks.
Today it feels like a commuter suburb with a mix of Victorian and later housing, local shops and community groups, but its character still shows the imprint of the canal and mill era when industry followed the river. Good road and rail links into Manchester make it popular with people who enjoy green walking routes and village‑scale community life while working in the city.
