Freckenham

Freckenham is a small village and civil parish in West Suffolk, in the county of Suffolk in England. It lies beside the River Lark on the edge of fenland and close to the sandy heaths of the Brecks, so the local landscape mixes wet meadows, grazing marsh and patches of heath and woodland.

The settlement has a long history, with medieval earthworks and an ancient parish church surviving alongside traditional flint and timber cottages. The local economy is largely agricultural, with arable farming and pockets of conservation interest, and village life remains quiet and community‑focused, centred on the church and village hall rather than urban amenities.
