Worcester Park sits close to the outer London boundary in the borough of Epsom and Ewell, Surrey, and has a distinctly suburban, village-like feel. The area grew up with the arrival of the railway and today offers a mix of Victorian, Edwardian and interwar housing, a compact local high street and handy commuter links into central London, while parks and leisure facilities keep it popular with families.
Stoneleigh, also in the borough of Epsom and Ewell, is largely an interwar "garden suburb" of 1930s semis and modest period homes, centred on its own station and the local shopping parade often known as Stoneleigh Broadway. It has a strong community feel, a largely residential economy of local shops and services, and easy access to green spaces such as Nonsuch Park and the Hogsmill River, which give the neighbourhood a leafy, recreational character.
