Buckland is a small village in the district of Mole Valley, in the county of Surrey in England. It sits on the lower slopes of the North Downs within the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, close to the River Mole and a short drive from Dorking and Box Hill, which gives it strong connections to walking, cycling and other country pursuits.
Historically agricultural with medieval roots, Buckland retains period houses and farm buildings but today functions largely as a residential and commuter settlement with small local businesses and visitor interest from the surrounding countryside. Community life is focused on village activities and the landscape; its proximity to transport links into London means many residents work in the capital while enjoying rural Surrey living.
