Bletchingley is a small rural civil parish in the district of Tandridge, in the county of Surrey, in south‑east England. Perched on a ridge with views across the Weald and close to the North Downs, the village retains a compact historic core of narrow lanes, timber‑framed houses and a small village green.
With medieval origins - including earthwork remains of a motte‑and‑bailey and a parish church of considerable age - much of the centre is a conservation area. The local economy is largely agricultural and residential, many people commuting into nearby towns and London, while village life revolves around the hall, pubs and occasional local events that sustain a strong community identity.
