Chaldon is a small, quietly scenic village in the district of Tandridge, Surrey, England, sitting on the upper slopes of the North Downs with sweeping views across the Weald. The surrounding chalk downland and network of footpaths give it a strongly rural feel and place it close to the rolling, protected landscapes of the Surrey Hills.
Its most striking feature is the medieval parish church of St Peter and St Paul, noted for a rare late‑medieval wall painting of the Last Judgment; the village also retains timber‑framed cottages and several listed buildings that reflect its long history. Today the local economy remains largely agricultural and residential, with a small, active community and many people commuting to London or nearby towns while preserving a quiet village character.
