Whyteleafe is a residential ward in the district of Tandridge in Surrey, England, sitting on the scarp of the North Downs. Its elevated position gives some streets good views towards London, and the area developed rapidly with the arrival of the railway in the mid‑19th century; two local stations provide regular commuter links into the capital, which helps explain its largely suburban character.
Today the ward feels village‑like, with a mix of Victorian and interwar housing, small shops and pubs, active community groups and greenbelt countryside on the doorstep. There is a local non‑league side, Whyteleafe FC, and easy access to walking routes into neighbouring towns such as Caterham and Purley, so the place combines commuter convenience with pockets of countryside and a strong local identity.
