Alderbury is a village and civil parish in Wiltshire, a few miles east of Salisbury set beside the valley of the River Avon and close to the wooded scarp and rolling chalk of Salisbury Plain. The landscape combines riverside meadows and chalk downland, with attractive lanes and footpaths that make it popular for local walking and countryside recreation.
Historically centred on agriculture, the community retains a number of historic buildings and country houses while now hosting a mix of long‑standing residents and commuters who work in nearby towns. Village life revolves around a primary school, village hall and pub, and there is active local interest in conserving the river corridor and surrounding habitats.
