Burbage is a large village and civil parish in Wiltshire, sitting just a short distance from the market town of Marlborough on the chalk of the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Its position on the rolling Marlborough Downs gives easy access to countryside walks and wide views towards the neighbouring Salisbury Plain, so it feels distinctly rural despite good road links to nearby centres like Swindon.
Traditionally a farming community, Burbage has a mix of older cottages and more recent housing and functions partly as a commuter village while keeping an active local life - village halls, pubs, a primary school and sports clubs are typical. There are a few notable historic buildings and a parish church that hint at its long local history, and the community still revolves around seasonal events and village organisations rather than heavy industry or large-scale tourism.
