Luckington is a compact village tucked into the north‑west corner of Wiltshire, sitting on the edge of the Cotswolds and close to the Gloucestershire border. Its honey‑coloured stone cottages, lanes and a small medieval church give a very traditional Cotswold feel, and the area’s history is reflected in a notable country house, Luckington Court, and surrounding agricultural landscape rather than any heavy industry.
Today the village retains a largely rural economy centred on farming with some local services and commuters travelling to nearby towns such as Malmesbury or Tetbury. Social life is typical of English villages - a village hall, a pub and occasional community events help sustain an active local community, and the pleasant walking countryside draws visitors who appreciate quiet historic villages on the fringes of the AONB.
