Quidhampton is a small, rural parish in south Wiltshire, lying close to the market town of Wilton and within easy reach of the cathedral city of Salisbury. It occupies low-lying water meadows beside the River Nadder, with nearby chalk downland, so the landscape is a mix of fertile farmland, hedgerows and quiet country lanes.
Historically agricultural with medieval roots and a handful of listed buildings, the parish has long ties to the nearby great estates such as Wilton House. Today it combines farming and small local enterprises with a commuter population, and its tranquillity and proximity to major heritage sites make it attractive for walkers and visitors despite a very small local community.
