Redlynch is a rural civil parish in south Wiltshire, situated a few miles south of Salisbury on the northern fringe of the New Forest. The landscape is a mix of wooded valleys and chalk downland punctuated by small streams and pockets of historic parkland, giving the area a pleasantly secluded, village-to-country feel.
Its settlement pattern is made up of small villages and hamlets such as Lover, Woodfalls and Morgan's Vale, with local life centred on village halls, pubs and community events; Lover is well known for its quirky Valentine’s postmark. Historically the area grew around country estates and farms - including the manor house and parkland around Redlynch House - and today the economy is largely agricultural with many residents commuting to nearby towns, while tourism and recreation linked to the New Forest also play a part.
