Tockenham is a small rural parish in Wiltshire, set in undulating chalk downland to the north‑west of the county near Swindon. The settlement is largely agricultural, made up of scattered farmsteads, converted barns and a compact village core that looks out over arable fields, hedgerows and quiet lanes.
The area has a long history visible in its medieval church and surviving earthworks of an earlier settlement, together with several listed houses and a former manor house that give the place a strong local character. Community life is modest and village‑focused, with farming still important economically while many residents commute to nearby towns; the parish is also popular with walkers and anyone who enjoys open countryside and historic lanes.
