Bredon is a small village and civil parish in the district of Wychavon, Worcestershire, England, lying at the foot of Bredon Hill, an outlying Cotswold limestone ridge overlooking the Vale of Evesham and the winding River Avon. The hill is valued for its limestone grassland, wildlife and archaeological earthworks, and the area attracts walkers and naturalists who come for the views and the countryside.
Historically the village retains a medieval feel in its church and older buildings and has literary associations - A. E. Housman famously set a poem on Bredon Hill - while the local economy remains rooted in agriculture and market gardening in the surrounding vale. Today it’s a quiet, close-knit rural community with village events, pubs and walkers’ trade helping supplement commuting and more modern occupations among residents.
